The Booth.ai Alternative (2026): Where Its Users Went

Booth.ai is gone. It was discontinued in 2025 and its domain is for sale, which is worth stating plainly because a lot of comparison lists still recommend it. If you were using it, or you found it in a roundup and could not work out why the site was dead, here is where its users went and what fits the jewelry case specifically.

What happened

Booth.ai was a Y Combinator-backed AI product photography platform. It shut down in 2025, reportedly with little notice, and the domain is now listed for sale. The broader reason is not mysterious: general-purpose AI product imagery got absorbed into tools people already pay for, and a standalone subscription for background replacement became a hard sell. The lesson for anyone picking a replacement is worth carrying: pick something that does a job specific enough to be worth its own bill.

What Booth.ai did, and what replaces each part

It did three things: lifestyle scenes around a product, clean packshots on plain backgrounds, and on-model imagery. No single tool replaces all three at the same price, so match the replacement to whichever part you actually used.

Why jewelers should not just pick the nearest general tool

If you were using Booth.ai for jewelry, the like-for-like replacement will reproduce the same limitation you probably already noticed. A general model has no concept of a prong, so prongs multiply, thin out, or vanish at the edge of a stone. It has no concept of a species, so a sapphire renders as a generic blue gem. Metal reads flat because sheen is approximated rather than set. On most product categories none of that matters. On a $4,000 ring it is the product.

A two-minute test on any candidate: shoot one coloured stone and one piece with pave. If the sapphire reads as a sapphire and the small stones keep their count, it understands jewelry. If not, it is guessing convincingly, which is what Booth.ai did too.

The jewelry-specific option

You can start from a phone photo, a DSLR shot, or a CAD file, STL or 3DM, and a CAD-seeded render keeps the exact geometry, so you can photograph and list a piece before you cut metal.

The honest limit: if Booth.ai was doing backgrounds on a general catalogue for you, this is more tool than that job needs and Pixelcut will do it for a third of the price.
