Bangkok is where the colored-stone trade lives, and BGJF is its fair: ruby, sapphire, and the cutting and treatment houses behind them, plus silver and finished jewelry manufacturing. Thailand's trade ministry runs it jointly with the national gem institute.
If the fair dates do not line up with your trip, the Jewelry Trade Center complex on Silom Road trades year round.
